Strong In Me...

The bridge of this song really stuck out to me. Its so powerful and true.
"I may be weak, but Your Spirit's strong in me.
My flesh may fail, but my God you never will."
Humans fail, but the Spirit of God living inside of us is anything but weak. His strength is made perfect in our weakness. So rest in the fact that your Savior will never let you down or fall short of your expectation.

"But He said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for my power and strength are made perfect (and show themselves most effective) in weakness.' Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weakness, so that Christ's power may rest on me."
2 Corinthians 12:9

Acquire the Fire...

This weekend, I was blessed with the opportunity to accompany our youth group as a chaperone on a trip to Acquire the Fire. And all I can say is... Wow! God is raising a generation that is fearless and on fire for God. I witnessed that with my own eyes. The sight of 5,000 some youth sold out to God is an image and experience I will never forget.
There are so many things I could share that God revealed to me through this trip, but one thing the speaker Mike Guzzardo said really stuck out to me. He was talking about failure, and how it has a tendency to try and stick around in our lives. When we fail once, we have an aptness to continue to look at the failure and not move on with our life. It can make us question our self worth and has a huge tendency to make us feel unrighteous and sinful.
In response to all of this, he gave us one reason that we as Christians are righteous and in right standing with God throughout our life. In the Old Testament, there was a division between God and man. There was a sacrifice that stood between the two, because God can't be where sin is. As a result of the sacrifice that Jesus paid, we are now covered in the blood as His children. The Spirit of God is able to live on the inside of us. This is proof that we are holy, pure and righteous. The Spirit is able to be one with us. We are no longer in sin with a barrier between us and our King. We as Christians aren't perfect. Yes, we sin, but we aren't sinful. We are righteous, which is proved by the Spirit in us. There is no life more beautiful than that.

"For sin shall no longer be your master, because you are not under the law, but under grace."
Romans 6:14
"For the sin of this one man, Adam, caused death to rule over many. But even greater is God’s wonderful grace and his gift of righteousness, for all who receive it will live in triumph over sin and death through this one man, Jesus Christ."
Romans 5:17
